Whatever their struggles, I believe that individuals learn coping mechanisms that served them well at some time in their lives, but may no longer be helpful in that form. By tapping into the innate wisdom that helped them develop those coping mechanisms, they will be able to learn new ways of being in the world that lead to a deeper sense of wellbeing and confidence. That journey may involve a variety of approaches, from psychoeducation and practice of new behaviors to the uncovering and expression of long buried emotions to developing a sense of spirituality. I consider it a great honor to partner with individuals on their journeys toward wholeness and incorporate a variety of approaches, depending on each client’s needs.

In addition to individual and group counseling, I also conduct labyrinth workshops. The labyrinth is an ancient spiritual tool that is thousands of years old, walked by millions of people of all cultures and traditions. The labyrinth is not a maze, as it has no wrong turns or dead ends. Rather than a puzzle to be solved, it is a walking prayer, a walking meditation, with only one path to the center. Participants are invited to experience the labyrinth as a form of walking meditation, used to calm and quiet the mind.
